Star Light, Star Bright, Why Do You Shine Tonight?

“And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.” – Isaiah 60:3

Lets again take look at the topic at hand, the Magi. Some say this passage in Isaiah points to the star that brought the Magi to Yeshua. We know that stars are seen at night not during the day. So I’m not sure were a lights rising fits into that picture. It does say gentiles shall come to thy light. Is that the light of Yeshua the person, the teachings, the man, the life and death or to a physical star or comet in the sky. In this season around the Saturnalia and Sol Invictus (Unconquered Sun) festivals in which the “Universal” Roman religion blended with Christos-Paganism we hear much about the reason for the season. There is much confusion about the reason of the season with the fertilities tree’s, the pagan G-d Odin riding on a slay to give gifts or lumps of coal as punishment, the tinsel sparkling sperm decorations on the tree or the or the ovum being seeded as gifts under the tree. This time of the year is full of Yule tide carols, that point us to the ancient society of the Thule or Atlantean myths. Yule is another way of saying Thule. The Thule society that Hitler was apart of the and the Thule ideals that CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien seek to embed in our brain are one and the same, only one is less violent and a little more benign way of putting it. The funny assertion that Yeshua is the reason for all the greed and paganism is absurd. But I don’t plan to deal with that much here. Just the three blind mice or Magi as you would have it. Who are they, what are they and what does that mean to us. We are to remember that Yeshua died for our sins, there is no scriptural command to manufacture a birthday or to remember His birthday. So that’s a moot point that will be left alone for now unless I feel like doing a blog to tackle that hairy beast. But for not lets get into more meat about the Magi. I can guarantee you will be informed and enlightened.

Were The Biblical Magi Kings Or Magicians?

Mathew says they came from the East, they are called Magi. We know the Magi where Babylonians and that the Babylonians and Persians are East of Israel. The Magi did indeed come from the East. The ancient Magi were eventually connected to the idea of being Kings or Kingship from medieval belief that the verses in Psalms 68:29; 72:10 and Isa 60:3 referred to there visit since no other account of visit by any possible kings is denoted around the life of Messiah. as people tried to look back and make sense of parts of the story that they didn’t understand. As Orders of Mithraist who were Neo-Platonist Magicians and Sorcerers who revered the Magi wanted to find further connections to tie the “Universal” (Catholic) Religion of Rome to pagan Mystery Religions and also find ways to try and connect it even if loosely to the biblical narrative. This concoction didn’t come about til the 5th century. The belief that they came from Babylon and were Astrologist come from the story saying the followed a star and were Magi. The belief that the “three Kings” came from the “three” gifts given, in pageants and plays they started to depict three separate individuals bringing each gift, which may or may not be true. There were three gifts and Magi who did come from the east. The star or sign they followed has been called the Star of Bethlehem or the Star Prophecy. As we’ve already established the Magi we’re astrologers and magicians who were for a time influenced by Daniel during the Babylonian Captivity. They most likely did have knowledge that was passed to them during Daniels tutelage and leadership of them. This is where the Babylonian influence upon the “Babylonian Talmud” including the Babylonian names given to months of the biblical calendar come in.

What Did The Magi See That Led The To Yeshua?

There has been much debate and suggestion of a star prophecy or the story of messiah painted in the stars though scripture leads no support to this. Whether it was an actual star, a supernova, a planet, comet, occultation or conjunction (or gathering of planets) has been debated by many scientist. The fact that a group of Astrologers visited Yeshua as a toddler is a curious statement given the bibles admonition against astrology and this is how many of the medieval mystics find support to claim to be “Christian” and mystic. Maybe they heard of the prophecy of Numbers that says “Star will come out of Jacob” and believed that this pointed to an astrological sign. The bible never says these men are saved or that they received salvation. They did honor Yeshua as king which is right and honorable but no merit has been given to this. The biblical narrative only points out that they came and gave gifts due to following the stars and being Magi an order of Babylonian Magicians that was once influenced by Daniel during captivity. It is curious and interesting to say the least but it is not anything that says its okay to follow stars or astrology. Because they did doesn’t mean we can when scripture clearly commands us not to. They may have believed Yeshua to be the King or Israel or a King, or even G-d yet scripture gives no assertions as to what happened to these men after leaving. Their religions and practice isn’t included in the biblical narrative just like the names of the Pharaoh’s who reigned during Hebrew captivity are rarely mentioned, not by name but by stating that Joseph was given “Ramses land” in “Goshen.” The bible is very vague about pagan religion and practice intentionally because the purpose of the bible is to lay out right worship not to give credibility to pagan worship. It has been stated that the Magi must have cast horoscopes to determine were the toddler Yeshua was at the time of the star in the sky. The gifts given to him indicate their preparation for what they thought the star would lead them to. They brought gold, frankincense and myrrh. Gold was given to kings or royalty, priest were given frankincense to burn ritually and myrrh was given to mourn someone’s death. The Magi came prepared to honor a King, a Priest and some one’s death tells us they didn’t know what to expect when they came. Yeshua was a Toddler so He was far from death, yet maybe this prophetically pointed to His death. Yeshua is Priest and King, after the Order of Melchizedek. Did they know the meaning of the star or were they prepared for whomever they may find. The Magi were obviously unsure of were the star was leading them, the simply followed the star, they didn’t seem to know the birthplace of messiah because when questioned they didn’t tell the specifics though they promised to later, after finding the toddler Yeshua they decided to leave secretly, to not give up his location to Herod. They did come to honor Yeshua the “King of the Jews.” After all the captivities and the split of the two kingdoms, G-d told Ezekiel that the two kingdoms should become one that Israel and Judah should become one. It is after this that the Israelites are given the title or slang name “Jew” as short form of Judah. The star went before the Magi and eventually stood over the place where Yeshua resided. Many astrologers have tried to study the stars and find the sign that lead the Magi to Yeshua there is no consensus just a lot of conjecture and connection to pagan deities including the royal star of Zeus. This may have been why eventually the Roman’s added an “s” to the name of Yeshua. Iesu is the direct translation into Latin from Hebrew and Aramaic. Adding Zeus to a name was similar to the Hebrew use of Yah or Iah, as in Hezekiah, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, etcetera. It is interesting to note that Josephus stated that Herod had died shortly after a lunar eclipse. Could this lend to the idea that it was maybe a lunar eclipse. Scripture doesn’t state, its actually vague so all the discussion is conjecture.

Who Are The Magi

In the history of the Universal Roman religion the Magi are called “Kings” and “Wisemen.” But who are these “wise guys?” The Magi are the religious caste into which Zoroaster the father of Zoroastrianism a priestly branch of the Magi and modern black magic come from. The word Magi is an old Persian word “Magus” it is the title of the priestly class of Zoroastrianism. They were influenced by Babylonian Zurvanism and thus they were astrologist and alchemist who studied the stars religiously. They where recognized and highly regarded as scientist at their time of existence. The term Occult is an astrological term meaning to Obscure when one astral body comes in front of the other to Obscure or hide the other that is an Occultation. The Occult are religious practices which come between mankind and the true G-d and seek to Obscure the true light which is what Zoroastrianism does. The King James Version of the Bible translates the word for Magi “Wise men” in Daniel 2:48 and “Sorcerer” in Acts 13:6-11; & 8:9-13. The word became the English slang term Magic used to denote occult and pagan ritual. Magi were most commonly followers of Zoroaster or at least Hellenistic astrology, alchemy and sorcery. Even in ancient Greece the magi appears as one who practices astrology, alchemy and esoteric (hidden) wisdom or teaching. The Chaldeans are considered to the the inventors and founders of both astrology and magic. They where known as tricksters, conjurers, charlatans, who through trickery cunning and guise beguiled people through tricks of slight of hand, mastery of alchemy and knowledge of how astrology affected our chemistry to pretend influence over those whom they had “tricked.” It is believed that Persians who lived in the areas of modern Iran and Asian minor, India, Pakistan, even as far as Samaria, Ethiopia and Egypt were where the Magi originated from. They where considered to be Mede-Persian descendants who were of a priestly order. Much like the Levites where the priestly caste of Israel the Magi were the priestly cast of the Mede’s and Persians. The Magi of Persia were not connected to the Medianite tribe with a similar name. They are the founders of Mithras and Platonist ideas. Platonist takes much of its fundamental core beliefs from Mithras which is fundamentally a form of Zoroastrian Magi. They are all connected as most pagan “mystery religions” are the only difference is the language and terminology at times.

A Global Conspiracy? Or Connection!

Arabs, Persians, Babylonians, Egyptians, Hindus, Mayans and Hellenistic all followed astrology in ancient times. Studying the sun, the moon, the three nearest planets and the constellations of the heavens. The origins of Astrology go back to Babylon and Assyria, then traveled throughout The Middle East, to Asia, Europe, Africa, and to the America’s via a land bridge to the Mayan’s and Incan’s. European Astrology was a blend of Babylonian and Egyptian decanic astrology that was used to create horoscopic astrology. It is believed this originate in Alexandrian Egypt and spread across the ancient world into Europe, the Middle East, India and China. Avestan Maguano, is the religious order that Zoroaster was born into, the name seems to mean “so that I can be heard beyond Magi” which seems their goals was to spread their ideas to the whole world not just to Persians. Through Mithraism, Platonianism, Catholicism, Hinudism, Buddhism, Toaism and the Medieval Orders the effectively did this. Most of the world is influenced by their ideals and principles. The study of the Zodiac, astrology and astronomy take much from what they brought to the table. The Mayan’s take their name from a similar form to the Persian Mayu, it seemed to be a term originated with the Medianites. In the modern etymology of Magic as a way using supernatural means to effect the natural world or at least the appearance of doing so through trickery and slight of hand seems to be a gradual progressing to becoming a conjurer and charlatan. They were thought to be interpreters of omens and dreams, as Daniel did while in captivity and as a leader of the Magi for a time. The Greeks believed Zoroaster to be the inventor of the Magic or of the Magi as we know it. The dark arts were introduced to Greece and Rome through the Zoroastrian order of Magi. The Greco-Romans thought it madness and a uninhibited lust for this magic that they called a monstrous craft. This may be the idea where the mad scientist or evil genius gets its origin. Astrology and Magical lore seem to be a central theme to the texts that where accepted and used by followers of Zoroaster and the Magi. Those Pythagorean Order of whom created the Pythagorean Theorem (that is said to postulate the theory and relationship of the divine mother, the divine father and the eternal sun deities) is said to be founded by followers of Zoroaster who studied in Chaldea. They even claim that the creation of the seven day week to Zoroaster. Which I find odd since we find it in the bible in the creation account. The Chinese “Wu” which is considered to be a shaman, witch, wizard or magician comes from the old Chinese Myag which some say came from the Persian magus. The Wu and the Magi uses a cross with potents that looks much like the Knights Templar red cross in magic ritual. The name Meirden said to be the name of Merlin who was said to be related to Constantine III. Meirden or Merlin is said to be a combinations of two names mear or mair or myag and den. A den, cave or coven of one who does myag. It may have been a name for what he did but not his actual name which may have been Ambrosius Aurelianus. Arthur is said to have called him Merlin Ambrosius possibly a blending of his trade name with his real name. The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn which I discussed in some length in the article about CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien’s Inkling Agenda has a strong connection to the Magi. They even called the second highest order in their degree system “Magus.” They believed that the second highest level made the designate attainable to the level of magic of Zoroaster, Moses, Buddha or Lao Tzu, among others great “magicians.” Aliester Crowley came from the Order of the Golden Dawn along with CS Lewis and others who where “Christian Mystics” or “Rosicrucian’s.” Much of the Kabbalah and Rosicrucian’s incorporate elements of the Magi’s Astrology into their practice from Alchemy, Esoteric, Chiromancy, Astrology, Numerology and Tarot divination. Michael Ward has said recently that you can not fully appreciate or understand CS Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia without understanding astrology, the seven heavens and astrological symbolism.

Astro-Pseudo-Science?

Astrology is considered a pseudo-science full of superstition and not accurate to the modern scientific community. Yet many of Lewis, Tolkien, Hort and Westcotts co-conspirators called themselves practicing science participating in séances, remote viewing and conjuring up demons. Astrology believes that through the study of astral bodies you can learn information about the personality, nature of people and even predict the future. Astrologers believe that the movement of celestial bodies directly influence the movement of people on the earth. They do study the effects of magnetic fields, tersian fields or lay lines and their correlations to megalithic structures and their effects on mankind as they related to why they where built and what they were believed to do. The ancients where able to accurately chart the movement of the stars with pin point accuracy which even rivals that of our modern computer models and rendering. They have charted many solar, lunar and astrological events with accuracy to the minute detail. Scientist believe psychological effects of belief in the superstitions around astrology play more into the effect based on cognitive biases not astrological phenomenon. Though we see signs in nature of animals knowing when an earthquake is coming, wolves howling at the new moon, the tidal rising and falling due to the magnetic field of the moon. The closest astral body to us is the moon and the magnetic field of the moon only has a major effect on the tidal waves, current, ebb and flow. The sun is the second major contributor to our tidal movements.

Clandestine Organizations & Magic

Occultism is the foundation of much of the clandestine, hidden or secret knowledge throughout the world. Many clandestine organizations, secret societies and organizations, have a connection to occultism, remote viewing (séances), contacting the dead, psychic powers and the like. Many secret societies and fraternal organization subscribe to secrecy, magic and sorcery of some form. Movies like “The Men Who Stare At Goats” may parody these groups yet the comedy is based in real belief’s in these pagan myths and ideas. It is interesting that Sam Hain the pagan Lord of the Flies, bears a similar name to Baalzebub, which also means Lord of the Flies. Egypts highest form of deity was said to be a Scarab beetle which is also known as a dung beetle. The truth is not stranger than fiction, ha’Shatan is lower than a dung beetle and is a lord of the bugs. Occultism is an astrological term that came from the meaning to Obscure or hide the true object behind and occultation. Occult leaders teach that the hidden knowledge is meant only for the elect, special people, or spiritual people, and that it must be kept hidden from the average Joe. Occultism is the study of hidden wisdom and esoteric philosophy. Many mystical and magical order take on the title of Occult. Magic is the practice of occult pseudo-science based in astrology, hermetic mystic Kabala and Rosicrucianism. With the rise of Wicca, Neo-Paganism, Rosicrucianism, Freemasonry and Kabala we’ve seen a return of hermetic and mystic magic portrayed in movies and pop culture. All of these groups trace the practice of magic back to the Zoroastrian astrological order and priesthood, namely as perfected by the Egyptians and later the Greco-Roman Mithraism and Platonist. One who practices sorcery and divination with the combination of alchemy and astrology is considered a magician or sorcerer, as accurately depicted in the Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter books. The Ancient Greeks, Arabic, Egyptians, Coptics and Dometic have had a large number of magical papyri, scrolls and books on magic recovered in part or in full. There are some main components seen throughout all magical lore. Such as the use of:

  • Magic words or language
  • Mantras or chants
  • Spells and potions
  • Magic sticks or ritual tools
  • A Magic circle
  • Mysterious Symbols
  • Contacting The Dead

A Medieval Revival

The advent of Jewish Kabala around the 13 century brought about a revival of Christian occultism which evolved into Rosicrucianism, Freemasonry, The Illuminati, The Order of the Golden Dawn and the Thule Society among other organizations that still maintain control, power and influence to this day.

“Renaissance humanism saw resurgence in hermeticism and Neo-Platonic varieties of ceremonial magic. The Renaissance and the Industrial Revolution, on the other hand, saw the rise of scientism, in such forms as the substitution of chemistry for alchemy, the dethronement of the Ptolemaic theory of the universe assumed by astrology, the development of the germ theory of disease, that restricted the scope of applied magic and threatened the belief systems upon which it relied.” – Wikipedia

Something that is vital to note is that all the mystery religions share belief’s, doctrine and common histories. You will find Neo-Platonic, Mithraism, Hermeticism and many other things common among them all. Ideas of Thule (Yule)-Atlantis or Gaia (Pangaea), the Arya (Fallen Angles & Their Giant Offspring), Serpents (Dragons or Dinosaurs) and World Tree’s (The Tree of Gnosis) are seen throughout the worlds pagan astrological-sun religions.

The Santa Clause Connection

Rosicrucian and Free Mason bodies throughout Europe influenced by the Knights Templar and Illuminati kept the practice of magic, astrology and the occult sciences alive. Many of the neo-pagan groups still honor the pagan traditions of Astrology and nature worship through the many solstices and seasonal festivals. Gaea (Gaia) is worshiped as mother goddess of the original Pangaea, Atlantis or Thule ideologies. The Arya or fallen angels cast down to the earth are regarded as the enlightened ones who came before us and we should seek to emulate themes. Themes of Serpents, Dragons and World Tree’s are common in their religions, along with Sun deities and astrology. By in large a majority modern western hermetic magical tradition is inspired by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn claim the story of the Magi as inspiration for them to study and participate in Astrology and the Magic arts of ancient Zoroastrianism that the Magi followed. Many groups have come out from this order including Theosophy, the Satanic Church in America, Wicca and many other groups. Even the Thule Society that Hitler was a part of before coming to power that was essential to the foundation of the SS came from this mystical order. Writers such as CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien, and the authors of Dungeons & Dragons, and Harry Potter find inspiration from this order. The ancient tale of Beowulf also comes from these ancient tales of Pangaea, Atlantis or Thule (Yule). Yule is another way of saying Thule. The mythology of Santa Clause come from a combination of Kinter Klaus, Odin, Saint Nicholas and other Yule (Thule) related mythos. The connection between these is crucial in understanding the underlying message and method of delivering sacred magic and mystery religions. The ideas of Norse mythology where strongly taught throughout the Anglo-Germanic peoples, through the traditions of King Arthur, Merlin, The Knights of The Roundtable, Sir Robin “of the Hood” Loxley and other Anglo-Saxon based myths include strong Nordic influences. The Vikings and the myths of midgard, Odin, Thor and the many other Thule influenced tales and myths of Northern Europe. These myths reflected the same stories of Southern Europe the Atlantis myths of Plato, as well as the Egyptians, the Arya of Mede-Persia, the Vedic, Chinese and Incan-Mayan myths of giants cast down to the earth, who influenced or helped build the mega-lithic structures.

Third Eye Blind & I Like It That Way!

Magical energy or psychic power is said to come from Chi (good in evil and evil in good), Kundalini (the coiling serpent), Aurora Borealis (the serpent that bites its tail), Rieki, Numen or Mana. There are thirty three vertebrae in your spin and thirty three levels to the many magical religions. The thirty third level is said to be the mystical level in which the serpent takes control of your entire physiology and your third eye (where the serpents head) rest opens. As seen in Ancient Egypt the crown had the serpents all-seeing eye of Horus above their forehead. In Vedic or Hindu religion they put a red dot upon their forehead where the Kundalini (coiling serpent) spirit rests its head. Many who have had this experience say that a rush or flood of thoughts overwhelm them as their “spirit guide” takes over and they become one with the disembodied spirit they “reincarnated” in their body through demon possession giving themselves over to the occult philosophy. The disembodied spirit wants to take a body and become or take up carnation again. They seek to possess a body. That’s why scripture says the go seeking a place to dwell. The pagan religions seek to give body, to carnate or be inhabited by demons, fallen angels or disembodied spirits physically. The whole idea of being Third Eye blind until the carnation of a disembodied spirit or fallen angel within your body or rebirthing your ancestral darkness, commonly referred to as a rebirth process. This is also considered the process of becoming a god, the ancient pagan maxim to know thyself and know god and the universe. Earth, Wind (Air), Fire, and Water are seen as elements to control of influence. Yet I would say that the illusion of magic or foretelling comes from studying the affects of gravitational fields being able to predict weather (wind, rain), to use Earth (Alchemy) and Fire to seem to or appear to control these things. Its science and the magic notions are rejected by modern science. Its not control of creation but worship of creation. The invocation of spirits to intervene or to speak as oracles also gives the illusion of magical power. Spirit possession or understanding occult sciences doesn’t make power but illusion and those who of feeble mind fall for the delusion and believe the illusions.

Cast Down Or Falling Up?

The belief that mediation, that empting one of oneself to open himself to the universe along with chanting and mantra’s is said to shut off the mind and create cognitive dissonance, a blank slate in which one is mentally, physically, emotionally unaware and highly suggestible, open to possession and control. To become one with the universe, to connect to the universal energy or force, to be one with the spirit guides assigned to you is the essence of the magic wisdom. It’s a how to guide to connect to the Serpent and “know evil” as was the choice in the garden to “know good and evil.” They already knew G-d the perfect good, the temptation was to be like the elohim’s (gods or fallen angels), to know “good and evil” and have the freewill to choose good or evil. At the center of the debate of freewill or predestination is the debate over the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil and the ability to choose each day between blessing and cursing, whether or not to speak life or death. Misconstrued around this is the false view that the fall was a fall upward and this gnosis of the evil genius or carnal nature is the true “knowledge that is power.” At the center of this debate is the fall of mankind and the knowing of evil that leads to destruction and downfall. We know that Lucifer was cast down to the earth and that he took a third of the Angels (Malakim-Messengers) with him and that he took the form of a serpent to tempt Adam and Eve to become like them and to not only know G-ds good will but to also know their evil will.

In Conclusion

Who the Magi where is clearly delineated by history, their practices are behind modern magic and sorcery. Scripture clearly tells us to avoid Astrology, Incantation, Consulting Mediums, Seers or Contacting The Dead, from going into Trances and from Magic or Sorcery (Lev 19:26; Deut 18:10-11; Isa 47:13-14; Galatians 5:18-23). So therefore no matter what means the divined to see Yeshua it wasn’t away that scripture would allow true believers to use. We must reject ideologies that ask us to do things G-d calls evil. We must reject religions ideas and notions that point toward the stars, the sun and earth and not to the G-d who created the Universe, Galaxies and everything therein. We must not get caught up in vain debate that lead to dissentions. We must seek to know the truth and be free. I hope that this has helped you discern the true, the good and the right so that you can reject the evil, the wrong and absurd. We do not need the knowledge of fallen angels to be truly enlightened only G-ds Word will do. Let G-d be true and every man a liar. Seek G-d and He may be found by you. Don’t seek signs. Yeshua said a wicked and perverse generation seeks signs. Just like many of the “end-time prophets” seek to divine the signs of the times to proclaim when they believe messiah will return. Only one truly knows the Father in heaven. So we must seek the Father and not signs and wonders. Seek the L-rd and know His love. Find peace in ha’Shem not through the appearing to no how to divine signs, times and seasons through astrology and mystery religions.

Shalom.
