Boker Tov!!!
We are in the 47th day of the Omer and Wednesday Shavuot (Pentecost in Koine Greek). This is a Two day festival that goes from Tuesday evening through Wednesday-day (which is day one) and Wednesday evening through Thursday-day (ending Thursday before sunset – Biblical days begin the previous day at sundown) and Erev Shavuot (The Eve of Shavuot) begins Monday night at sundown.
Shavuot, is “The Reaffirmation of the Covenant.” It is NOT “The Birth of the Church.”
[Editorial Note: This refer's to the Roman Catholic Universal "Church" that wasn't birthed until the mid second century and not recognized until the middle of the third century that many point to this event as birthing. If you look in the book of Acts its not til much later that Gentile's start joining the movement. And during the time of scripture, Jew and Gentile's were united in Messiah and met weekly for Shabbat Service's in the Local Synagogue's and the on Mozei Shabbat (Saturday Evening), or the Eve of the First Day of the week they met for Havdalah, fellowship and preaching. They (the early "church") observed all the Biblical Feasts, met on Shabbat in the Synagogue and gather for Fellowship that evening as was traditional to do. Gentile's were not added until later when Peter went to a G-d-fearing Proselyte and he to received the Ruach HaKodesh. Then even later after Paul's conversion, then Paul and Barnabus started the first mission to Gentile which still was focused around Shabbat, the local Synagogue's and Biblical Feast's. In the book of Act's and the Epistle's the early "Church" was a Jewish and Gentile body that meet in the local Synagogue's on Shabbat, in Homes on the Eve after Shabbat for Havdalah or Fellowship and continued observing the Biblical Feasts. As Word stated this was not the birth of a gentile contra-church that all of a sudden was anti-Jewish and changed or abolished the biblical foundation or traditions that Yeshua Himself and His Apostle's followed. Though the "Roman Catholic Church" and the Gentile Churches that follow her claim Apostolic Succession its obvious they do not follow the Way of the Sect of the Nazerene Yeshua because they reject and change what they did from the L-rds Day (which has always been the Sabaath the day He rested from Creation) to even creating pagan influenced festival's that contradict the clear teaching of scripture and the history of the early Church. Despite what many teach this isn't the "birth" of the early Church. In John 20 Yeshua told the Disciples to Receive the Holy Spirit. As Word assert's this is a re-assertion of the Covenant that is now written on our hearts as well as stone tablets. The Gentile's Church as we know it didn't even start to join the movement til later through the Ministries of Peter and Paul. And the Catholic Church and by extension her child the Protestant-Reformed Catholic Tradition is a post biblical unbiblical creation of man that blends paganism with scripture and twists it to create something different. Any who follow the Roman Catholic churches Sunday and Festivals (All Saints Day, Saturnalia, Astarte, Etcetera) are by extension a part of the Reformed Catholic tradition. The true Church observe's the Biblical Shabbat and Biblical Festivals.]
It commemorates the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai (Exodus 19:8; 24:7), and for us who Believe in the New Covenant, the giving of The Ruach HaKodesh (The Holy Spirit-Acts 2:1-42), therefore affirming and continuing God’s Torah (Law).

Beha’alotcha | בהעלותך | “When you set up”
The third reading from the book of Numbers and the thirty-sixth reading from the Torah is called Beha’alot’cha (בהעלותך), a word that literally means “When you ascend.” It comes from the first verse of the portion, which could literally be translated as “When you ascend the lamps” (Numbers 8:2), a reference to the fact that the priest had to step up to clean and light the lamps of the menorah. This portion is jam-packed, telling the story of the consecration of the Levites, the first Passover in the wilderness, the silver trumpets, the cloud of glory, the departure from Sinai, the grumbling in the wilderness, the first Sanhedrin and the punishment of Miriam.
Torah (First 5 Books of the Bible): B’midbar (Numbers) 8:1-12:16
