What Purpose Does The 'Talmud,' 'Mishna' And 'G'marah' And 'Brit Chadasha,' 'Gospels' And 'Epistles' Have In Common In The Christian And Messianic Jewish Communities

A Tanach

The Gospels are Yeshua’s oral teaching to the disciples as recorded by the Disciples. The Epistles are a discussion of the Halachic impact of the Gospels. The Gospels and Epistles came before the Talmud which consists of the Gemara and Mishna is essentially the same as the Brit Chadasha. The Mishna and the Gemara follow the same format as a written record of Oral Teaching-Traditions. The Talmud, Gemara  and Mishna came after the Gospels and Epistles in the second century of course the Oral Traditions pre-dated their writing. Yeshua even referred to them. However as a response to the Messianic communities Writings they felt the need to preserve the Jewish writings. The Brit Chadasha, Gospels and Epistles were first written in the first century. After the fall of the Second Temple in the period of Middle Judaism the Talmud, Mishna and Gemara  were written as a response to the Gospels and Epistles to preserve the Jewish traditions so that they wouldn’t be lost to the advent of Messianic Judaism-Early Christianity.

The Mishna (the Oral traditions) are held as high for the Rabbi’s and Pharisee’s as high as the Gospels (Yeshua’s Oral teaching to the disciples) are held for us. The Gemara records the discussions on the Mishna (Oral Traditions) and their Halachic impact, just as the Epistle’s do for the Gospels. The Epistle’s discuss the Halachic and Liturgical impact of the Gospels and the Torah, just as the G’marah does to the Mishna and Tanakh-Torah. Both the Gospels and Epistles as well as Mishna and G’marah serve a purpose one to preserve the Teachings of Yeshua the D’var Adonai who spoke both the Tanakh and the teachings to the Apostle’s as recorded in the Gospels.

The Mishna and Gemara record the right context of the Tanakh in Halacha. The Gospels and Epistles record the teaching of Yeshua in their right context through the apostles in Halacha. The writings of Paul and most of the Epistles are Pharisaic documents. With the exceptions of the Book of Hebrews and Revelation carry strong theme’s of the Essenes and Qumran principles of Messiah as Melchezidek, coming twice (once as priest and secondly as ruling king), living in the time of Messiah’s first coming and the near Apocalypse. We have been in the age of Messiah for the past 2,000 years, before that was 2,000 years of Torah, prior to that was 2,000 years of lawlessness. We are awaiting Messiah’s return before the Millennial Sabbath rest.

For us the Tanakh-Gospels-Epistles come first, while the Talmud which consists of the Mishna and the Gemara ad right context and help give informed decisions and rulings in Halakah. The Mishna-Gemara do help give a right understanding of the Tanakh and related Halakah, the Gospel-Epistles do the same for Yeshuas teachings. There is a right balance and healthy diet. Lets learn to rightly divide the D’var Adonai and apply it in its right context. The truth is recorded for us.
