Paradoxical Reflections On 9/11 Ten Years Later

Twin TowersWe are coming up on the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 and I would like to share how I feel 10 years later. I have to say a lot has changed for me. I went from being single and leading bible studies for my church, to being a short-term missionary, to being married with a wife and son. I have also moved from Texas back to California. The last ten years have been interesting to say the least. To see the rise of red light “Big Brother” type camera’s pop up at corners everywhere and near strip searches at airport security. I have been given “special” treatment twice since 9/11 and none before while I was on Mission Trips none the less. It was annoying being pulled of the plane to randomly search my luggage.

I did experience a government shut down of the missionary facility we we’re staying in Brussels Belgium. Which is very close to Waterloo where one short would be conqueror Napoleon lost the war to the English. A war that made the Rothschild’s a rather wealthy family by giving false news that the English lost causing a crash in the English Stock Exchange. They were able to buy out the next day when the real news came that the English had won and not lost. Enough on the history lesson. Did we learn our lesson? Everyone was being blocked from coming into a missionary building that spreads the gospel of Yeshua throughout Europe. What harm or threat we’re we? I don’t know. But it was interesting.

Then we have the rise of social media and more personal ways for Uncle Sam to spy on global citizens. For example Google tracks all searches connected to IP address and email accounts. Facebook allows government agents to set up fake profiles to spy on citizens. Along with the rise of reality TV like ‘Big Brother’, ‘Real World’ and ‘Survivor’. All of which seem aimed at preparing for the all-seeing eye of “Big Brother” as entertainment and eventually we may actually see the communication screens seen in many sci-fi movies in futuristic dystopia’s. Never mind the The Patriot Act, “Homeland Security” and illegal wire taps.

In 2000 I had helped get out the vote for Bush being a conservative/libertarian at the time I felt it was a good choice. He was pro-life, supposed to be “Christian,” Pat Robertson believed so? Not sure that means much. 9/11 changed everything for me in many ways. At first it seemed like Bush was taking it to the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and I even considered joining the military to join the fight. I was also in a quandary about moving to Israel to help an itinerant teacher on Judaism as a personal assistant or whether to go on a short-term mission trip to Spain and Western Europe. I went on the later. And it was an intriguing and life changing experience.

Then came the push for Iraq which I wasn’t feeling at all. I didn’t see the case or justification for war. It seemed like Bush wanted to find justification for revenge for Sr’s Gulf War or nation building. Bush lost me on Iraq, I voted Independent-Libertarian in the mid-term elections. Then came along Obama the first Mixed race, African-American presidential candidate. I felt the need to vote for racial diversity. People accused me of being a baby killer I don’t get the difference Bush didn’t stop Abortion and was for going to war and killing people so how’s that pro-life. He didn’t seem so pro-life to me maybe pro-self or pro-war=death.

These past ten years have had happen more in them then the past 30 years. As I said a lot has changed. I’m not sure I believed that Obama would bring change but I believed his Ethnicity would open doors for a more racially diverse and more representative government and society. Sunday is still the most segregated day of the week as Dr M.L.K. Jr said. I no longer trust the Republican crowd. Independents weren’t making great strides towards a legitimate third-party in my opinion. So I voted for Obama and am proud we elected our first president would wasn’t solely of the Caucasian persuasion. Praise the L-rd.With the housing crisis and us going into a second recession, all of which started at the end of Clinton’s Presidency and was continued through in Bush’s presidency and has continued as Obama continued Bushes failed bail outs. I think Bush thought war would bring a recovery, yet it wasn’t like World War II where the nation was brought together to build the machines to win a truly global war. People tried to compare 9/11 to Pearl Harbor they have less in common than most consider. A group of none national terrorist attacking a building with our own planes with box cutters isn’t the same with a nation attacking us with the might of their navy. In the end the recession deepened, then the housing crisis came, then the failed bank bail outs that made it worse.

Maybe if the jobs to help fight the war from home were given to US citizens and not organizations like Blackwater or Halliburton then maybe the financial and housing crisis’s wouldn’t have gone so deep. Now I am scared of the Tea Partiers for real, they scare me. Ron Paul seems to be the sanest solution in this world of chaos but I don’t believe the Republican party will support him they’d lose money on their war machines and have to close bases and bring a lot of troops home. Democrats would be forced to stop pushing for more gambling on our money.

This whole End of America hoax and 12/21/2012 panacea is bonkers. Oh yeah and the failed Camping Rapture on May 21, 2011 is still claiming the end of the world Oct 21,2011. He must have watched too much Terminator which was said D Day was April 21, 2011. He failed in 1988 why did people listen to him again. Why is there always a 21 in these end day fake outs? Y2K didn’t pan out so they trying to manufacture fear for money and economic racketeering.

Whether the galaxy aligns, magnetic fields increase, or solar flares knock out power grids, or the mysterious comet Nibiru crashes into the earth, or the g-ds-aliens descend on a serpent rope or worm hole, or If one day all compasses point south I’m sure we’ll make it. We’ve been here a while and we will be here a bit longer.

As for the 911 Truthers they have some legit points but no proof of the who and no smoking gun. The government story doesn’t pan out. Was the Pentagon blown up to cover an accounting mistake? What about world trade center building 7? Did The Bush Brothers Cartel blow up the trade centers? Or did Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfield come up with scheme as a Neo-Con conspiracy? Etcetera… I doubt it. Terrorism yes, inside help maybe. There are some mysteries and questions. Will the public know the truth probably not til a few hundred years from now when people look back and discover some secret documents?

Personally I’ve lived more decisive and been more intentional. I do believe Yeshua will return in the twinkling of an eye. I’m not so concerned about when I’m pray to stay ready with lamp lit anticipating. Honestly I am more skeptical of the government and politics. I’m more concerned how I live, how I raise my son and how help people live better now as we all prepare for the after life. Whether you believe it or not the thought of it or not of it changes the choices we make and how we live. Things like 911 make you think. I’m less engaged in politics and more engaged in my life.

In 2002 I wrote for a publication Where Were You On 911, here’s what if was feeling immediately afterward.

On the morning of September 11th. I was waking up, taking a shower and making Quaker Oatmeal for breakfast when I turned on the television to check the traffic on my way to work to find what appeared to be a flick from the movie independence day. I didn’t think it was real. How could something like that happen? My sister had a friend working next to the Twin Towers. My dads girlfriend had a cousin in the building. A nation so strong, so prosperous. How could it be? Shocking it cut my heart and for days I could feel just a sense of pain on the land. Not my pain but pain. The pain of the people. I felt the terror of the enemy trying to come in but I felt the judgment of God on those evil doers come even stronger. It was a time of mourning and intercession for me. Now I know that the end times are nearer than ever. Jesus could come back tonight are you ready? Am I ready?

I have to say that G-d has judged America, and we survived catastrophe’s like Hurricane Katrina, Earthquakes, Indonesian Tsunami’s, Japanese Tsunami and Nuclear meltdown, along with Middle East uprising and other catastrophe’s. It does seem that when America and others try to make major decisions to divide the land of Israel as the book “Eye For An Eye” documents we’ve experienced corresponding catastrophe’s. I’m more concerned about us supporting the biblical state and people of Israel than I am anything else. We must pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the return of Messiah to bring true peace on earth. I’m not scared of a terrorist attack or solar flares. I feel safe knowing I’m safe in the hands of Adonai He giveth and He taketh away. If I stand or fall I pray it’s all for Him in the end. HaShem has been good to me. And that is what I take away from 911. This is my personal experience and I hope it finds you well and engaged in life. I pray you find shalom in a world full of hate and religious dispute causing hatred and wars. Where politics, power, money and resources, seem to cause people to do crazy things we all must find peace for ourselves.
