Questions:

“Why do the english bibles have the second Lord with only the first “l” capitolized and the first LORD with all the letters capitalised in psalms 110;1?”

Answer:

Because they are actually two different words translated as L-rd and also as G-d, in all there are three words one is overlapped. I did a couple articles the L-rd G-d Revelation, The Emmaus Road Revelation, Does Adonai Have A Son? and Bible Translations Mini-Yeshiva that cover the topic you address.

Simply

In the OT there are three basic names of G-d.

  1. Elohim = G-d, or gods plural.
  2. HaShem (HaShem means the name, the tetragramaton made up of the vowels Yod Hey Vav Hey) = is translated Ego Eimi or I Am in the Greek Septuagint
  3. Adonai = Lord or Adoneinu My Lord

When Elohim is connected to HaShem (ie…  Yod Hey Vav Hey Elohim) it is translated LORD God.
When Adonai is connected to HaShem (ie… Adonai Yod Hey Vav Hey) it is translated Lord GOD?

This also carries over into the NT, except the words used are Kurious for L-rd and Theos for G-d. There is no word for HaShem in Greek however Ego Eimi or I AM is used in the place of the divine name.

So the NT use of L-rd and G-d should be without complete capitals unless quoting and OT passage that does use them.

In the Greek Septuagint Elohim is translated Theos or G-d in English and Adonai is translated Kurious or L-rd in English.

I hope that helps a little.

Here are some links to some of the articles where I discuss this more.
