So here you have it. The American Chopper live build off has begun. Jesse James takes on Junior and Senior. The first live episode has been aired, the next episode is going to air tomorrow. Is Jesse James bike going to end like his show “Jesse James Is Dead,” will Junior airplane themed bike sore, and will Seniors mad-max-mobile explode in his face.
For the first time “three heavy weights got head to head” as the Discovery channel billed the show. What will be the outcome will it be like the Cadillac build off where its obvious Junior smashed? OCC’s shop isn’t up to par with Juniors Paul Jr Designs period. OCC can not build a better bike so what does Senior do he builds some machine after Junior made a monster trike for Gears of War 3. Its sad that Senior has to resort to wild antics. Its not even a bike that’s drivable on the street. Jesse James built a bikers bike but I don’t see any theme to it other than it’s a older school bike. Is Jesse James even on the par with Junior or Senior?
I have to say that Junior airplane themed bike shines and was hand made, it’s a true work of art. The small team at PJD put the work in and crafted a bike that incorporates elements from and actual airplane, if you look at the pictures for the build the detail is amazing. You have to go to the website and see the details. On a themed bike show it’s a dope bike. Check the picture for yourself here and sound off.

Jesse James claims he went to Israel to learn how to build from a blacksmith there. Claiming to be able to build bikes on his own in the end having a team of ten or so guys help build the bike isn’t what Jesse James said he could do. The tragic fact that he didn’t build the bike on his own as he claimed he could do, he started with a two man team and a few other hands, then he calls in more help. In the end the bike has no theme, its just an old school bike that looks like all the other bikes he’s done. No theme, nothing fancy. It may be a mean bike for a biker. But its not a theme bike. Seems kind of played out to me because Jesse James built himself up as being able to do more.

This monstrosity of a machine by OCC isn’t a bike, so it should be disqualified. Rick rightly asked “is this even a bike.” As much as they claim to build better bikes, have better technology, and can do more. What are they doing with their more? For having such a great team and toys to make things in house from paint to fabrication they don’t seem to do even a close job to Junior. They know they have no chance in a build of with Junior. Senior has buried himself and at some point will have made himself irrelevant in a sense terminate himself, like this futuristic terminator machine.

Jr has class, James only has arrogance, and Sr has nothin. Jr won this one not only with his bike but his attitude. I would buy a bike a pjd in a heart beat, and I think James owes someone 100,000.00 dollars for the beat outta his own mouth that no other bike would sound as good as his cause Jr’s bike sounded way meaner, deeper, and stronger than his did. Awesome job Jr, sorry James your nothin anymore, and Sr you never were anything it was all Pauly that made you become anything in the first place, give it up..
I was looking forward to the build off, and I was severely let down. Maybe it was me thinking it was going to be like the old Biker Build off, where they built bikes, rode them for 400+ miles took them to a motorcycle show and people voted on them. Instead we got Mike Catherwood, and to be honest I had to look the guy up to see who he was. When I found out he was a co host on Love Line, I understood why he was trying to stir the pot up so much. he really made himself look like a heel in the end.
Jesse did build himself up really good in the shows before the build off and even when he was building the bike at first. Then I guess he realized that he wasn’t going to even come close to finishing on time and had to call in help, and I agree his bike was totally plain. I think his mouth did more harm then good, every third word of his was beeped out. On top of talking smack about his competitors, he had to add insult in injury and bring up his personal life. If he would have stuck to building the bike instead of making the film crews wear hip waders and shovels to get through the muck, he might have had a good chance to win.
Senior took himself out of the competition with that snowmobile thing, and all in all was more of a waste of film then anything else. He didn’t even lift a finger on the build that on top of his mouth left him in the outs anyway. Junior on the other hand, seemed to want to stay above the trash talk and focus on his business. And even though it wasn’t a bike I would want to see in a true Biker Build off, it was the best bike of the two and deserved the victory.
All in all I think this was one of the biggest disappointments of my life. I really wanted to see an actual Biker Build off between these three “builders”. Instead we got a wtf is that, a plain Jane Frisco, and a theme bike. All my anticipation for this show, both days at work at DISH waiting to get off so I could watch the build off while I waited for the bus was for nothing. If I didn’t have sprint I would have been calling foul for wasting the bandwidth to stream the shows to my phone using my sling adapter. Now we can only hope that Discovery will do an actual Bike Build off we remember with real builders on it, like The Ness family.
Yea the title “Biker Build Off” does make you think its a biker build off. But the show is about theme bikes. They shoulda had rules either theme bikes or functional bikes.
My question is- where would Jr. be without his father. Also, isn’t it ironic that Jr. fired Odie for being disrespectful to the boss/owner of the shop? I like Sr. best and wanted him to win (and wish he had built a “motorcycle”). Even though I like Sr., all of Jr. and Sr.’s theme bikes are for show. Sure, a person can ride one, but they are still made for show. Jr. is an artist and does have an enormous bit of creativity, but he’s not a biker. Jesse is by far the best craftsman. He builds “real” bikes, not “comic book bikes”. The build- off was nothing more than a popularity contest. It’s all about exposure and promotion. Jr. has been on top in the publics’ eye for months now. If the build off had taken place b/4 Jesse did Sandra Bullock bad, the outcome would have been different.
Sr wouldn’t be where he is today without his 20% partner who designed all the bikes since day one of the show. Sr would have just been a bike builder without a show and without fame. Jr made the bikes and was a part owner in the company and his father punked him like he was an employee. He didn’t even respect him as a son. Its good they split Jr is more creative does better bikes than Sr ala Jason Poole. Sr doesn’t design and build Jason Poole designs and Rick does fabrication. Sr needs to retire & the new show needs to be about PJD or build off between different bike co’s either based off of working bikes or theme bikes.

Exactly Jason Poole was good when he and Jr collaborated but in the end in fabrication Jr, Rick and co would add to & change things making the bike better. The team with Poole, Rick, Jr and the rest need to build bikes without Sr.
I thought Jr was the winner till Jesse pointed out the fact that if there is not a gas station every 10 miles your gonna be in alot of trouble… I now understand what he means by building bikes to ride, whats the sense of having the best looking bike if you cant enjoy it… Jesse James in reality built the only working bike of the build off… I wonder if all the bikes Jr builds are the same or was this just for the build off.
Some of Jr’s bike are for show, for example the theme bikes meant to only be used at trade shows to promote a product, however he has made more bikes that have full tanks but he has done theme bikes with tanks in different places to create themes or special bikes for show.

The people that voted,must never ride motorcycles.Or they have one to just park in front of there house.Jesse James is the best builder.I would get on his bike and ride it anywhere.Sr,and Jr they are just into theme bikes,get a big company give then money because they can not sell choppers.Buy one of there bikes and see if you can get tags for them.You dont have to like Jesse,but he can build a real Motorcycle.

Personally I’ve owned dirt bikes and quad, and tri’s when there we’re legal I’ve never owned a crotch rocket or old school chopper. I’d prefer a crotch rocket. But the show is what it is theme bikes. Next theme bike competition then need rules either dopest theme bike or dopest street chopper

There was only one true bike in this build off, One art piece and a snow mobile. The build off should have been like all the others and the contestants should have ridden their bike 500 miles……….Oops only one winner….Jesse you got ripped off……
Way to go PJD it was you all the way… SR and Jesse have nothing on you all they have are big mouths that cant give credit where credit is due.. Im glad you do your job and dont put anyone down thats how it should be..As for SR he should always be proud of his son and not always put him down i cant believe a father can act that way he should love his son no matter what…. there is no better bike builder than JR in the WORLD!!!!!!! no one can even come close.. and SR what did u build, thats no bike that looks like a prop for a cheesy commercial, did u not hear the part that said bike build.. but sr i have to give it to u for what it is its pretty cool.. and for jesse james, DUDE you should have stayed home.. do something different you always build the same stuff.. all your bikes all look the same, the only thing different about your bikes are the colors.. JR and his crew have built the most awsome bikes I have ever seen.. and Vinny, DUDE you can build bikes, anyone that says u can”t is stupid or blind.. JR designs is going to be the most succesful custom bike builder EVER….. there is no bike company in the world that can compare to JR designs, ROCK ON P.J.D ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought this was supoose to be a chopper build off??? The only chopper that was built was by jesse james! Period!!! Junior has built an amazing themed motorcycle and has a chance of winning. Whatever it is tha seniors crew built is not even a motorcycle of any sorts. Senior should b ashamed of what he built it should not even b in the contest whatsoever. As far as enginering goes senior gets a thumbs up but bottom line is it is a bike build off and senior has let his fans down by building somthing that does not even fit in the same catagorie of a motorcycle!!
I concur sr create some kinda machine not a bike, he should be disqualified, Jesse James built a good bike like he always does, no theme, Jr built a dope bike that’s theme, not sure I like the smoke in the face but I get its supposed to be like flying an airplane. If its a dope built theme bike like the shows been about Jr got it. If its about a chopper build off that’s a bikers bike which American Chopper hasn’t been doing and isn’t about then Jesse built a bike for bikers but that’s not what AC’s about. So I don’t its up to the fans. The buzz is around Jr, though Jesse James has some fans & could pull an upset, unless there’s an anti-miss-congeniality vote factor. I noticed Sr and Jesse James did crew shows with the bike. Jr did a solo shot and did a corny shout out to his fans before anyone saw a bike.

Why is having a “theme” a good thing? I find it more challenging to build a bike without a theme to mold every single idea from. This writer is disgustingly bias. Just watch Jesse James works. He ishs all over everyone elses tallent with the exception of Paulies tank guy.

I am biased towards creativity, artistry and innovation a bike that the same allg Jesse James has done for year is nothing new, a few things here a, nothing great though. Yes I’m proudly and “disgustingly biased” toward a dope theme bike. That is what the show is about and always has been. If you want to watch a chopper build off that isn’t theme based pick a show that does that. Hands down the detail on Jurniors s the best on this one. The propeller on the drive belt case, the divits, not paint, no “icing on the cake” Jr showed Jesse he can hand manufacture a better doper theme bike that sells for more and gets more viewer support.
sr did not build a bike. he built a snow mobile and not even a good one of them. so is he saying he can not run with real builders and how does rick like not even putting up a real bike for a bike build off….. that was sad. discovery channel should have cut his section when he did not follow the rules like the others. jesse just made the same old thing he made 10 years ago. what happened to a bike people would” think satan was riding”. it had pretty paint and some good lines but nothing special. give it to jr he put some thought in to it. and never talked bad about anybody.

Your such a MAROON!!! Jesse’s bike is the same old run of the mill bike you can buy just about anywhere with the exception it was built by “Jesse James”. Big deal, granted Sr’s doesn’t even resemble a bike, but Jr’s is by far the best there. He shows innovation,creativity, and it shows that he put a little thought into building the bike Doesn’t have anything to do with being the Ghey, you just mad cause you don’t have one. How Many good bikes have you owned DA and rice burners don’t count.

first of all senior’s MACHINE looks like a weapon instead of a motorcycle. This is suppose to be a build-off of motorcycles, not some machine that looks like it belongs in some video game. Senior is making a joke of this, when Jr. & Jesse are trying to build a riding-motorcyle. Therefore, Jesse,s got a good bike, but my vote goes too: PAUL JR. DESIGNS, juniors bike is fantasia to see and to ride, you see that bike riding down the road, and wish it was yours. PJD have the best ideas on building motorcycles than either

Jesse arguments he is the fabricator but frankly a bike is a bike parts wise. He is still stuck in one gear, old school where Jr. Has demonstrated versitility and a sound fabrication each time. He, not like dad, does not shortcut quality and his team the best in the industry. I know those old school people in my age group get stuck in the old ways, yet, its time to give credit where it is due. As for Sr. Sadly, he tried to copy the gears bike and while nice if he had stuck to what he knows his and Jesse would have produced carbon copies.
