Jews for Jesus is a Christian evangelistic org...My apologies for threatening to beat up santa clause yesterday for home invasion, racketeering, supporting prostitution, petty theft and corrupting our youth. I know it was a bit excessive but rather funny, I could see it as a comedy act. I’m sure he’s a nice flying mystical elf. I apologize to father christmas and all those who love and cherish Christmas.

As much as I had fun ranting, venting and threatening santa clause there are some real issues that get on my nerves that people of faith need to take care about what they say and do.

For those of you who do Halloween and Christmas (or even Easter) while claiming to believe in Jesus or Yeshua, and trying to call what you do Judaism I have a few words for you that you need to hear.

Deuteronomy 18:9, “When you enter the land Adonai your God is giving you, you are not to learn how to follow the abominable practices of those nations.

What you do that confuses people isn’t good and looks bad to outsiders looking in. I recently did a post on the dumb things Evangelicals do. Evangelical Christianity is an annoying brand of Christianity, they want freedom of speech to get in anyone’s face about Jesus but then they want to censor gay activist and oppress their free speech. I’m not for gay rights. Homosexuality is a sin but if Evangelicals want free speech be consistent, if your for censoring other then prepare to be censored you deserve it and ask for it by trying to push your religion on others. Its rude and offensive and doesn’t win converts. Its bad PR.

Leviticus 20:23, “Do not live by the regulations of the nation which I am expelling ahead of you; because they did all these things, which is why I detested them”

Jesus needs new PR because Jews for Jesus have a horrible history of trying to convert people to Christianity, they support Christmas and Easter, they have a handbook against Messianic Judaism on how to deal with them. They are the anti-missionaries best friend in there are both extremist groups. Jews for Jesus and Anti-Missionaries are in the same boat. Jews for Jesus is the reason there are anti-Missionary groups. Jews for Jesus is a group that is Christian and deceptive and I oppose their ideology.

Jews should not ever convert to Christianity. As the recent Pew research pole shows at least 30% percent of Jewish people believe you can be Jewish and believe in Jesus. If you believe in Jesus and are Jewish do not convert to Christianity please stay Jewish. And please for the sake of heaven do not become a Hebrew Christian, who is a Jewish Evangelist trying to convert Jews.

What does this have to do with Christmas and people trying to make it Jewish? EVERYTHING!!!!

Jeremiah 10:2-5, ” Here is what Adonai says: “Don’t learn the way of the Goyim, don’t be frightened by astrological signs, even if the Goyim are afraid of them; for the customs of the peoples are nothing. They cut down a tree in the forest; a craftsman works it with his axe;  they deck it with silver and gold. They fix it with hammer and nails, so that it won’t move. Like a scarecrow in a cucumber patch, it cannot speak. It has to be carried, because it cannot walk. Do not be afraid of it — it can do nothing bad; likewise it is unable to do anything good!”

Because Hebrew Christians try to “Christianize” pagan and secular things like Christmas to say they are being good Christians by trying to convert family and friends over the holidays. But really they just like the gifts and time with family but because they know there are pagan, worldly things in Christmas they try to justify it by making it a “missionary,” endeavor.

And do not try to make Christmas Jewish, PLEASE DON’T ever. Jews for Jesus are nuts, bonkers, bat spit crazy. Christmas should not be Jewish. Just because Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi doesn’t make Christmas Jewish and because secular Jews wrote songs about Christmas doesn’t make it Jewish. PLEASE DO NOT try to make Christmas Jewish you can’t, one it’s a Christian and Pagan day, two Jews can observe the secular non-religions parts like food and gifts as a secular non-religious holiday and secular or progressive or non-observant Jews do observe Christmas not because Jesus and not because its Jewish but because its American.

Trying to make Christmas “Jewish” is a stupid evangelical idea to try to convert Jews to Christianity and a way they can feel good having tree’s with tinsel (Jeremiah 10, which Jews should not do)  in the home.

If you really believe Jesus was born on Christmas okay fine, why don’t you put up a cross and do communion. Do something that isn’t based in a secular commercial and pagan holiday. Secular and commercial in its American manifestation the Santa Clause flying elf motif is a pagan idea and he’s more popular than Jesus or any other so called reason for Christmas.

Stop saying Jesus is the reason for the season. He is not. Everyone knows Jesus was not born on Christmas. And giving gifts and putting up trees has nothing to do with Jesus. If you put up trees and exchanges gifts you are participating in a commercial American holiday and that’s okay. Don’t try to put Jesus in it that’s dumb and don’t try to make Christmas Jewish that’s even more stupid.

Enjoy Christmas, enjoy eggnog, put up a tree, spend time with family, but don’t try to say its for Jesus, its for you and your kids, its not for Jesus. Jesus is a torah observant Jews he wouldn’t put up a tree with tinsel (Jeremiah 10). And don’t try to use Jesus being a Jew and secular Jews writing Christmas songs to make a secular or religious holiday Jewish.

Christmas is Christian, Secular and Pagan in origin, its mostly Commercial and Family-centric today. So either do it as a commercial holiday or do it as a Christian holiday.

It can’t be a Jewish holiday because its not in the Tanakh and its not in the Talmud, thus it comes from another religion, traditions or nationality.

Please don’t say and do, dumb, corny stuff. I will call you out if you try to say something dumb about Christmas being Jewish.

Jesus was a historical figure, a Jewish Rabbi, but he wasn’t born on December 25th.

Catholic Tradition says Yeshua was conceived on December 6th making his birth somewhere around the fall feasts most scholars agree it was mostly likely close to or on Sukkot.

Christmas isn’t bad holiday, there is no conspiracy and if you want to observe Christmas please do. Don’t stop if you like it just do it for the right reasons and don’t say stupid stuff. Seriously. I am not a fan of stupid. And you can’t be taken seriously in the Jewish world if you say Christmas should because Jesus was a Jew and secular Jews wrote Christmas songs. Go to a orthodox shul and see how they respond to that idiotic statement.

And the most important thing is realize there is a difference between Hebrew Christians, Jews who believe in Jesus and try to convert Jews and Gentiles to Christianity. And Messianic Judaism in which people seek to practice Judaism and have faith in Yeshua but seek to keep Jewish people Jewish in Judaism, and help Gentile Christians connect with the Jewish foundations and origin of Rav Yeshua’s message in a Jewish context.

Hebrew Christians are Jews for Jesus and honestly a lot of MJAA pastors, who call themselves rabbi’s are Christian Evangelical Pastors who are seeking to convert Jews and Gentiles to Christianity. I’m sure there are some Messianic Jews in the MJAA who do Messianic Judaism, this is a general speculative perspective.

Messianic Jews are Jews who practice Judaism while believing in Jesus, and many of the UMJC Rabbi’s are Jewish Rabbi’s who seek to keep Jews Jewish and help Gentiles connect to the Jewishness of the the Message of Jesus.

I am converting to Judaism under a conservative Rabbi, I believe Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi but I don’t hold to either of those groups, I have been involved with both groups in the past and remain friends with people who are. But I am neither.

It is important to know how Jewish people really think and there are things that people say that stink. I’m sorry if I offended anyone or hurt anyone’s feelings. I apologize for going overboard. I love everyone please forgive me if I said anything offensive or wrong.

Personally I don’t do Christmas, I was raised Jehovah’s Witness so growing up we didn’t do it. My mom and sister are still JW and they don’t do it. I have no relationship with my father and I don’t hear from my aunts and uncles so Christmas is a painful time of the year for me, its long and it reminds me my family is broken. I’ve never gotten anything out of Christmas. I don’t do Christmas, Easter or Halloween. There are Jews who do Christmas as a secular holiday and there are Jews who do Halloween. Honestly I hope no Jews do Easter but I’m sure there are some that a Christians who observe Easter, they should observe Passover.

On one last not I am against people trying to convert Jews. I believe in Jewish covenant renewal and teshuvah to Torah. The Jewish people have a unique covenant identity. And to remain in a Jewish context you can’t bring Christianity into Judaism. It doesn’t work, it shouldn’t work. You should not mix the holy with the profane. Christianity may have came out of Judaism but it has went a long way away from Judaism.

Jewish people must start with Torah first as their foundation and anything else must come in a Torah first context for Jews.

And most importantly stop sending confusing messages. Saying you should make Christmas Jewish is good for evangelicals and Hebrew Christians its confusing to those seeking to establish the Jewish covenantal identity.

The Jewish covenantal identity is far more important that Christmas. So if you do Christmas enjoy, family, food and gifts. Please for heavens sake leave Jesus and Santa Clause out. Thank you.
